The OOPic Prototyping Board

(Click on image for larger view.)

This board has the following features:

  • Same size as OOPic with mounting holes for 2 40-Pin OOPic expansion connectors with pass through.
  • Mounting holes for 1-Amp 5-Volt regulator.
  • Mounting holes for 9-Pin D connector.
  • Mounting holes for I/O lines are arranges so that the board can be configured as:
    1. I/O line logic probe with no jumpers
    2. Servo connectors.
    3. IR distance connectors.
    4. Switches.
    5. Any other device that needs a single I/O line in combination with +5 volts and ground connections.
  • No-Solder Press in connections.

Power Connections

Several connection holes are provided that connect to power lines shown in red and black. The +5-Volt power line is connected to the output of a TO220 case 1-Amp voltage regulator. The +5-Volt lines from the OOPic's 40-Pin Expansion connector are passed through to the other 40-Pin connector and are not used on this board.

4 bus bars (shown in blue) are provided as general purpose busses. These can be used to provide voltage to servos, or any other device connected to the prototyping board.

Logic Probe Configuration

By inserting the following items

  • 4 74LS245 ICs
  • 32 rectangular LEDs
  • 4 330-Ohm resistor netpacks
  • 1 7805 5-Volt regulator
  • 1 40-Pin Header

into the locations shown, a logic probe board can be constructed.
