| The OOPic's LI2C interface is capable of addressing 8
blocks of 64k EEProms for a total of 524,288 bytes of
EEProm memory. The 1st 64k block's address is reserved for program space and is hard-wired at the E0 EEProm socket. The 5th 64k block is address is hard-wired at the E1 EEPRom socket. This socket can be used for either the EEProm memories, or a pin compatible coprocessor. Microchip produces 4K, 8K, 16K and 32K EEProms that will work in either the E0 or E1 EEPRom sockets.
The OOPic is shipped with a 4k EEProm in the E0 socket, but can be replaced with any of the I2C compatible EEProm chips available. See 8-Pin Socket Detail For more information on the E0 and E1 sockets. |
