This is how I made an OOPic programming cable using a dead mouse that I found at a computer surplus shop. This particular mouse cost me about 25 cents. |

After opening the mouse, I discovered that it had a 5 pin polarized connector as well as two micro switches, IR emitters and detectors, diodes, and a few other cool parts. (I will use those for later projects) |

The 5 pin polarized connector happened to be exact part needed to plug into the OOPic's 5 pin programming connection. |

I cut the other end of the cable off, and prepared the wires for the 25 pin D connector. |

Printed out the programming cable schematic from the OOPic web page, http://www.oopic.com/progcabl.htm, and proceeded to add the parts to the 25 pin D connector as shown in the schematic. |
