Philips Semiconductors I2C LogoI2C Coprocessors
X-10, DTMF, Voice, Etc...
To produce multiple time critical operations such as X-10 commands, DTMF signals, and Voice synthesis simultaneously and while still maintaining a multitasking environment, the OOPic incorporates the I2C network to communicate with inexpensive coprocessors. These coprocessors dedicate themselves to performing one time-critical task for the OOPic.

In addition to time critical tasks, the I2C coprocessors can also expand the OOPics functionality with such items as Floating Point Math Packages, High Precision A/D & D/A Converters, High Precision Servo Controllers or even several hundred I/O lines. Even another OOPic can be configured to be a coprocessor.

Several coprocessors can be connected to OOPic simultaneously. Even multiple occurrences of the same coprocessor can be connected.

The following lists some of the devices that can be connected to the I2C Network to provide extended functionality to the OOPic.
